John's passion inspired him to set a Guinness World Record for the Highest Tossed Pancake, because apparently flipping pancakes across a grill wasn’t ambitious enough.

From one pancake toss to thousands of events across Indianapolis & Louisville. John has served events everywhere from schools and churches to festivals, museums, distilleries, and corporate events.

Chris Cakes of Indiana is built on tradition — bringing crowd-pleasing meals, unforgettable entertainment, and a little pancake-flipping magic to events across the region. What began as a small-town operation has since expanded across multiple states. 

John Young first discovered Chris Cakes in 2005 while catering lunch at a local bike event. Somewhere between the smell of sizzling sausage and the sound of people laughing, he rounded a corner just in time to watch a pancake fly through the air and land perfectly on someone’s plate.

That was the moment.

The charm, the energy, the crowd interaction (and honestly, the pancakes themselves) stuck with him long after the event ended.
